Vijayawada: The first session of the AP State Legislative Assembly after the formation of TDP-led NDA coalition government will begin on Friday, June 21. The session will only last for two days, Friday and Saturday. Former chief minister and YSR Congress president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, who had been scheduled to visit Pulivendula from June 19 to June 21, has cancelled his programme in view of the assembly session.

At the same time, he has advanced YSRC’s



meeting to Thursday, June 20. It had earlier been scheduled on June 22. During the two-day session, new MLAs will take oath as members of the legislative assembly. Later, the assembly speaker and deputy speaker will be elected. TD senior leader and MLA Chintakayala Ayyanna Patrudu is being tipped to be the speaker. There is no clarity yet on the deputy speaker. Super senior MLA Gorantla Butchaiah Chowdary will be the protem speaker.
