In Bihar, the first cabinet meeting of the new NDA government will be held today. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will chair the meeting. Sources said during the meeting the cabinet will approve the proposal of a revised programme for the budget session of both the Houses of Bihar Legislature. Earlier the session was scheduled to begin from the 5th of February.
After the change of regime in the state several other political developments will take place as BJP and JD(U) have realigned.
MLAs of NDA have given notice to the secretary of the Bihar Assembly against
incumbent Speaker Awadh Bihari Choudhary. Mr. Choudhary is a member of the opposition RJD. The NDA has the support of 128 members in the House, whereas the RJD-led opposition has the support of 114 in the 243 members Bihar Assembly. One member of AIMIM is not with any segment.
In the changed political scenario, the incumbent Speaker of the Bihar Assembly Awadh Bihari Choudhary has to resign, as the next Speaker will be from NDA. If Mr. Choudhary denies leaving the post the ruling coalition of NDA will move a confidence motion to remove him.
