In Madhya Pradesh, on the first Monday of the month of Savan today, Lord Shankar's sawari will be taken out at Mahakaleshwar in Ujjain and Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga in Khandwa.

Devotees in large numbers have been thronging both places since early morning.

In Ujjain, the doors of the Mahakal temple were opened for Bhasma Aarti at around 2.30 am. More than three lakh devotees will perform darshan of Lord Mahakal today. Mahakal's sawari will



start around 4 pm to give darshan to the devotees in Ujjain.  

On the other hand, Lord Omkareshwar and Lord Mamleshwar will also be taken out as a sawari today in the pilgrimage city of Omkareshwar in Khandwa district.  Kavad Yatra has also started today. A large number of devotees started offering holy water to Jyotirlingas, which will continue for the whole month of Shravan.
