Five terrorists killed in two encounters in J&K

Srinagar: In the Kashmir Valley, five terrorists including a top commander of The Resistance Front (TRF) outfit have been killed in two different encounters with security forces in Kulgam district last evening.

The Inspector-General of Police, through the police's official Twitter handle, said that the commander of TRF identified as Afaq Sikander along with another unidentified terrorist have been killed in Gopalpora area of Kulgam



district.

In another encounter at Pombay village of the same district, three more unidentified terrorists have been killed.

Meanwhile, the police spokesperson said, a major tragedy was averted in Pulwama when security forces arrested two Lashkar-e-Toiba terrorists during a joint Naka checking.

Two ready-to-use IEDs were recovered from their possession and investigation has been initiated in this regard.
