In Uttar Pradesh, the government has directed all Madrassa to compulsorily hoist the national flag and sing the national anthem on Independence Day. 

In this regard, the Uttar Pradesh Madrassa Shiksha Parishad, the state government body has issued the letter. In the letter schedule for Independence Day celebration has been given in detail. As per schedule the flag hoisting will be done at 8 AM followed by the singing of the national anthem after which tributes will be paid to freedom fighters who laid down their lives for the independence of the country.

than this, patriotic songs will be sung and cultural, sports events will also be held. All district minority welfare officials have been asked to ensure compliance of the direction. 

Madrasa Parishad has asked the Madrasa authorities to submit photography and videography of these events as it is being monitored by the state authorities, the letter said. 

Minister of State for Minority Affairs Mohsin Raza has called the move a welcome step and said the state government was working with the motive of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas.
