In Uttar Pradesh, Flood condition continues to remain critical in many districts affecting more than 5 lakh people in state.
Torrential rains has claimed 18 lives in last 24 hours. Chief minister and other members of his cabinet will visit flood-affected areas on Thursday.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will conduct aerial survey of flood-affected Gonda, Basti, Barabanki and Sitapur districts where Sharda and Ghaghara rivers are wreaking havoc and hundreds of villages are reeling under the flood fury.
He will visit relief camps in Gonda district which is worst hit by flood and after breach in embankment of Ghaghara river at two
places more than 1 lakh people are affected.
Power Minister Shrikant Sharma, Sports Minister Chetan Chauhan and minister Mannu Kori will visit flood-affected areas of Ballia in eastern area, Farrukhabad in central area and Hamirpur districts in Bundelkhand area respectively.
Meanwhile, heavy rain lashed many parts of state including state capital Lucknow throwing normal life out of gear and affecting traffic badly.
Relief commissioner Sanjay Kumar told that 3 persons died when a boat carrying them capsized in Sarayu River in Ayodhya. Met department has predicted more rains in next 24 hours.
