In Bihar, flood situation has further deteriorated in the northern part of the state following heavy rains in catchment areas of Nepal. Water levels of Burhi Gandak, Bagmati and Adhwara rivers are flowing above danger mark.

Surging waters of rivers are entering fresh areas of Samastipur, Darbhanga, Madhubani and Sitamarhi districts. People have taken shelter in safer places. Rail traffic on Muzaffarpur- Narkatiyaganj section of East



Central railway paralysed for the sixth day consecutively today.

Deputy Chief Minister Renu Devi said nine districts including East and West Champaran, Saran and Siwan are reeling under the impact of floods. She said eleven teams of NDRF and SDRF have been pressed into relief and rescue operations in affected areas. 95 community relief centres have been set up in flood affected areas of the state.
