The flood situation in Andhra Pradesh is grim. In view of the continuous incessant rains and flood situation in West and East Godavari Districts, the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy conducted an aerial survey yesterday to take stock of the situation. The Chief Minister held a video conference with collectors of both the districts and advised them and other concerned officials to continue relief and rehabilitation programmes.
Jagan Mohan Reddy also instructed the MLAs and other
people's representatives to take part in flood relief efforts and to see that immediate action should be taken over the problems from the field level information provided by volunteers.
The CM advised the officials to recruit an officer in-charge to address the problems which will be brought to his notice from volunteers. He later asked officials to estimate the crop damage within 10 days after the flood recedes and to restore power and communication systems as early as possible.
