Flood situation in Assam continues to be grim

In Assam, flood situation continues to be grim as new areas have been inundated.Several rivers including the Brahmaputra are flowing above the danger level. 

However, situation has slightly improved at some places in Upper Assam. Army, NDRF and SRDF are carrying out rescue and



relief works. Over 32 lakh people are reeling under the fury of floods in 25 districts. 

Over 2 lakh people have taken shelter at relief camps. Rail and road communication has been disrupted due to flood. Relief materials are being taken to flood hit areas.
