Flood situation remains grim in Assam, with 1.9 lakh people reeling under fury of floods in 16 districts

In Assam, 1.9 lakh people are reeling under the fury of floods in 16 districts. Over 400 people have been shifted to temporary relief camps at Chirang and Sonitpur districts. Due to rising water levels of the Brahmaputra river, ferry services have been temporarily suspended at Jorhat -



Majuli and Guwahati and North Guwahati. One person died in Sivasagar district. SDRF teams have been pressed into rescue works at different flood-affected areas.
