In Bihar, flood waters of the Kosi and Gandak rivers are traversing towards new areas, inundating several villages in Saharsa, Darbhanga, Madhubani, and Khagaria districts. An alert has been sounded in Kosi and Seemanchal regions in view of the forecast of heavy rainfall in Nepal in the next 24 hours. All the rivers that wreak havoc on floods in these regions are directly impacted by rainfall in Nepal.
Out of 38 districts in the state, 17 are affected by flooding. Around 15 lakh people are reeling
under the fury of the flood. After washing away, the roads, bridges, and culverts now under heavy pressure are being witnessed on rail tracks in the region. On the Saharsa-Mansi rail section, flood waters are nearly touching the rail section at different places.
The officials of East Central Railway took stock of the situation in the region. Patrolling has been intensified across the region on rail tracks in view of the prevailing situation.
