Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman yesterday made budgetary provision of Rs. 5,976 crore for Nagpur Metro Phase-II (Two) . The Phase II of Nagpur Metro covers the rural parts of Nagpur district and will serve as an extension to the on-going first phase. The proposed Phase-II will be spread over 43.8 km length with 32 stations.
The corridors identified for Phase II of Nagpur Metro include, Automotive Square to Kanhan ,MIHAN to Butibori MIDC Prajapati Nagar to Transport Nagar and Lokmanya Nagar to
Hingna : The entire Phase II network is elevated. The first phase of Maha Metro Nagpur is progressing well and as per scheduled timelines.
This development will particularly help those employed in industrial areas of Nagpur and have to commute long-distance daily. The leader of Opposition & Former Chief Minister of Maharashtra Mr. Devendra Fadnavis has welcomed this provision in Budget and said that this proposal was sent during his tenure of Maharashtra Government.
