Delhiites woke up to a cold winter morning on Sunday (January 13) as fog engulfed most parts of the national capital.
While temperatures rose marginally in the Delhi-NCR, there has been no improvement in air quality which has now become severe in parts of the national capital.
No rain was recorded yesterday as predicted by the weather department but deteriorating wind velocity has led to a dip in the air quality index (AQI). It was
recorded severe in many parts of Delhi-NCR on Saturday.
The minimum temperature recorded over the past 24 hours in Delhi is lower than 7 degree Celsius.
According to data from Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), isolated dense fog likely to occur over parts of northwest India in the morning hours during next two days. Fresh rainfall and snow in Jammu and Kashmir and parts of North India may also lead to a drop in mercury later on in the day.
