Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri is scheduled to visit Bangladesh for Foreign Office Consultations on 9th of December. Briefing media in New Delhi on Friday, External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said this is part of India’s structured interactions with the Bangladesh side. He said Mr Misri will discuss all issues of mutual interest with his Bangaldesh counterpart. 

The spokesperson said India has taken note of the recent escalation in fighting in the north of Syria. He said India is closely following the situation and Indian Mission remains in close contact with its nationals for their safety and security. 

There are about



90 Indian nationals in Syria, including 14 who are working in various UN organizations. Replying to a question on recent unrest in South Korea, Mr Jaiswal said South Korea and India have strong political and economic partnership. He hoped situation in the country stabilises soon. He noted that India has very strong investment trade linkages and defence cooperation with South Korea. On Masood Azhar’s presence in Pakistan, the spokesperson said, he is a UN-designated terrorist and demanded that strong action be taken against him. He said Masood Azhar is involved in cross-border terror attacks in India and strong action must be taken against him.
