An arrest warrant was issued by Islamabad’s Margalla Police Station on Saturday against Pakistan’s former Prime Minister Imran Khan for his remark against Additional District and Sessions judge Zeba Chaudhry.

The warrant was issued hours after Imran Khan submitted an affidavit in a contempt case registered against him over his remark.

Imran Khan, on August 23, held a political rally in solidarity with his special assistant Shahbaz Gill, alleging that he was being tortured in custody.

During that speech, Imran Khan allegedly threatened judge Zeba Chaudhry, saying she should “prepare herself as the action would be taken against her”.

Immediately after Imran Khan’s remark, an FIR was lodged against

him for threatening the judge.

However, Imran Khan, in an affidavit to the Islamabad High Court, admitted that “he might have crossed a line and expressed his willingness to apologise to the judge.

Sections 186 (offence of obstructing public servant in the execution of public duty), 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant), 504 (criminal intimidation) and 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) of the Pakistan Penal Code were added to the FIR, reported Dawn.

According to a report in Geo News, Islamabad Police has dispatched a team to Bani Gala to arrest the PTI chief. However, sources have said that Khan has left his residence for an unidentified location along with former federal minister Ali Amin Gandapur.
