Nalgonda: TDP politburo member Mothkupally Narsimhulu on Saturday alleged that former TDP leader Revanth Reddy, who switched his loyalty to Congress, brought a bad image to Telugu Desam Party as well as the party president N Chandrababu Naidu with his note for vote act.
Speaking at Nalgonda district general body meeting of TDP in the district party office here, Narsimhulu said Revanth Reddy had damaged the image of the party with his activities over the years. He termed him as an escapist leader who ran away when the party was facing problems. Hype in conventional and social media platforms would not make Revanth Reddy a strong leader in politics and it would be proved soon, he added.
Stating that TDP was a
cadre-based party, Narsimhulu pointed that several leaders earlier left TDP, but it had no impact in any way. “TDP did not weaken in Nalgonda even when its senior leaders K Jana Reddy and Gutha Sukender Reddy quit it,” he pointed out. He said only people from backward and weaker sections have made sacrifices in any agitations and cited Telangana separate statehood movement as the best example. He announced that the TDP would choose candidates from weaker sections in all 12 Assembly constituencies of erstwhile Nalgonda district in 2019 elections.
TTDP State vice-president Vangala Swamy Goud, State general secretary Bollam Mallaiah Yadav, State organising secretaries Maragoni Srinivas Goud and Jakkali Ilaiah attended the meeting.
