Chennai: Forty people have been killed
in rain-related incidents in Tamil Nadu as the North-East Monsoon continued to
be active in several parts of the state. The worst affected is Cuddalore
District where 27 people have lost their lives.
Chief Minister Jayalalithaa has
ordered immediate steps to give monetary relief to the families of those killed

In the past three days, more than 300 mm rain has been recorded. Normally, Tamil Nadu gets only 440mm rain during October to December period.
