Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, along with Union Ministers Kalraj Mishra and Venkaiah Naidu laid the foundation of Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises technology centre at Pudi in Visakhapatnam district on Saturday. The Centre has decided to locate a world-class technology centre with an investment of up to Rs. 120 crore.
Addressing the gathering after laying the foundation stone for the Centre-sponsored programme for setting up Technology Centre Systems Programme, Mr. Chandrababu Naidu said industries would usher in economic growth and improve livelihood of people in the
neighbourhood, besides providing jobs to the locals.
He said industrial workers should not resort to strike and vitiate the atmosphere as it would send wrong signals to investors. He said he has been visiting various countries to get investments so that Andhra Pradesh is able to compete with other states in the field of industrial development.
Mr. Naidu said setting up of an industrial corridor in the region around Visakhapatnam district will help Andhra Pradesh become a hub of industrial activity in the country.
He also announced a development package for villages surrounding industrial centres in the district.
