Four Lok Sabha MPs belonging to the Congress party were suspended for the rest of the Monson Session on Monday. A resolution was passed in the Lok Sabha to suspend the four MPs, namely Manickam Tagore, TN Prathapan, Jothimani and Ramya Haridas.
The MPs have been suspended for displaying unruly behaviour and for disrupting proceedings of the lower house of
Parliament.
After the four MPs were suspended, the Lok Sabha was adjourned for the day to meet at 11 am tomorrow, amidst continuous protests by the Opposition members.
The Congress party later said the government is trying to intimidate the Opposition by suspending their MPs.
“They were trying to raise the issues which matter to the people,” a party leader said.
