Raipur: Four Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawans were killed and three others suffered serious bullet injuries when their colleague opened fire on them in Sukma district of Chhattisgarh on Monday.
The incident took place during early hours at CRPF 50 battalion’s Lingampalli base camp under Maraigudem police station limits in Sukma district on Telangana-Chhattisgarh borders. It was said that a dispute took place between the jawans over Deepavali
holidays.
An irate jawan, Reetesh Ranjan began shooting at his colleagues. The deceased were identified as Dhanji, Rajib Mandal, Rajmani Kumar Yadav and Dharmendra Kumar.
The injured jawans, Dhananjay Kumar Singh, Dharmatma Kumar and Malaya Ranjan Maharana were first taken to Government Area Hospital at Bhadrachalam in the district and later airlifted to Raipur for treatment, Bastar IG, Sundarraj P told media persons.
