Four terrorists including LeT commander killed in Baramulla Encounter

In the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, security forces have neutralized Four terrorists in an encounter at Malwah area in north Kashmir's Baramulla district. The slain include a dreaded terrorist of Lashkar-e-Toiba identified as Yousuf Kantroo who was on the list of top 10 most wanted terrorists.

Police sources informed that on the basis of specific information, security forces launched a joint Cordon & Search Operation in Malwah area of Baramulla in the wee hours yesterday. When the hiding terrorists fired at security forces four soldiers including one Officer received minor injuries. However, the



fire was effectively retaliated by security forces leading to an encounter.

In the ensuing encounter, so far 04 terrorists of terror outfit LeT were killed and their bodies were retrieved from the encounter site. The identification of the other three slain terrorists is being ascertained.

Incriminating materials, arms & ammunition were recovered from the site of encounter.  Meanwhile, like police, more terrorists are still inside Cordon which was laid by security forces, and an exchange of fire was still underway.
