The fourth session of the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly, NLA will commence on Monday (26th February 2024) with Governor La Ganesan addressing the House on the first day. Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio who also hold the finance portfolio will present the budget for the year 2024-25 on February 27.

The proceedings of the session will be conducted in a paperless environment with 70 per cent of the legislative proceedings being paperless.  

The first day of the session will witness the swearing in of the new Deputy Speaker.  S Toiho Yeptho of Nationalist Congress Party NCP is set to become the new Deputy Speaker unopposed, with no other MLA filing nomination for the post.

congratulated S Toiho Yeptho on being elected unopposed as the deputy speaker of the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly. He said,  Yeptho's dedication and commitment to serving the people of 33 Suruhuto constituency and Nagaland as a whole are truly commendable.  Patel wished Yeptho  a successful tenure ahead as he continue to work tirelessly for the betterment of his constituents and the state.

Meanwhile, the house will take up matters of urgent public importance, Question hour, laying of annual administrative report, presentation of Assembly Committee reports, introduction, consideration and passing of government bills and resolutions, presentation of C & AG reports among others. The session will conclude on March 1 with four sittings and a recess on Wednesday.
