Andhra Pradesh's Crime Investigation Department (CID) on Monday registered another case against Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief Chandrababu Naidu based on allegations of granting "illegal permissions" to liquor companies in the state.
Chandrababu Naidu has been included as accused number 3 in this case, which also falls under the Prevention of Corruption (PC) Act.
The CID formally filed a petition in the
Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) court, and the court has granted permission for this CID action. This is the fourth case filed against the TDP chief by the CID.
Currently, Naidu is in judicial custody at the Rajamahendravaram central prison due to allegations of financial misappropriation involving the Skill Development Corporation. These accusations are believed to have caused a reported loss of more than Rs 300 crore to the state treasury.
