India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast a wet spell accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds over East, Central and south Peninsular India for the next three to four days. According to IMD, a fresh spell of heat wave is likely to commence over northwest India from 16th of this month.
The IMD said, under the influence of western disturbances, the isolated rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds is also likely over Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand till tomorrow and over
Rajasthan till 16th of May. The weather department forecast duststorms and strong surface winds up to 40 kilometre per hour over the plains of Uttar Pradesh and south Rajasthan today.
On hot and humid weather, the IMD said, these conditions are likely to prevail over Saurashtra and Kutch region during the next 5 days.
Meanwhile in Delhi, the IMD has forecast a generally cloudy sky with light rain. The maximum temperature in the national capital is expected to hover around 40 degree Celsius today.
