India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted rainfall with isolated thunderstorms and lightning over Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand till 30th of this month. The IMD said a fresh spell of rainfall with thunderstorm activity is expected over Western Himalayan Region and adjoining plains of northwest India for the next five days. It said that there is a possibility of enhanced rainfall with hailstorm, thunderstorm and lightning over these regions for the next two days.
The weather department also forecast intense rain with thunderstorm activity over Northeast India during the same period.
It said light to moderate rainfall with isolated thunderstorms and lightning very likely over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim from the 26th to 30th of March.
On hot and humid weather, the IMD said that these conditions are very likely to prevail over Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala and Mahe till 30th of this month. Meanwhile, the IMD said that Delhi is likely to witness partly cloudy weather today with the maximum temperature expected to hover around 36 degrees Celsius during the day time.
