The full bench of the Election Commission of India is scheduled to arrive in Kolkata today for a three day visit to take stock of the law and order situation and review the preparedness for the ensuing Assembly elections in West Bengal. The full bench, led by Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora will reach Kolkata in the evening.
Election Commissioners Sushil Chandra and Rajiv Kumar will also be coming with him. They will hold
a meeting with the Chief Electoral Officer of the State Ariz Aftab. On the next day, 21st January, the bench will be meeting with the representative of different political parties and officials of poll related regulatory agencies. They will also meet Divisional Commissioners, DMs and SPs of the districts and senior administrative officials including the Chief Secretary, Home Secretary and DGP over the next two days.
