Northern Bihar continues to bear the brunt of flood fury. Flood water is spreading in areas of Muzaffarpur, Darbhanga, Samastipur and Gopalganj diostricts.Surging water of Burhi Gandak is entering into urban areas of Muzaffarpur and Darbhanga. 

Turbulent water is posing threat to embankment in Samastipur. Bagmati, Kamla Balan and Ganga are flowing above danger mark and is maintaining a rising trend. Over one crore 60 lakh people have been hit by floods. 

Toll in flood related incidents has risen to 376. Over 25 thousand houses has been damaged in the devastating floods. About eight lakh people have been shifted to safer



places. 

Over 4 Lakh 30 thousand people have taken in various relief camps. 1646 community kitchens are working in the affected areas where over 4 lakh 50 thosand people are taking foods every day. 

Dry foods packets are being dropped by two choppers in those areas where people are surrounded by flood waters. Medical camps have also been set up in the affected areas and free medicines are being provided to flood victims. 

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will visit flood affected areas of Motihari. Mr. Kumar said there is no dearth of funds for providing relief to the flood victims.
