The Goa government under a new chief minister Pramod Sawant passed the floor test in the legislative assembly today by 20 to 15 votes.The support of at least 19 MLAs was required to pass the test.
In the vote of confidence, the BJP-led
coalition government garnered support of 20 MLAs -- 11 from the BJP, three MLAs each from the MGP and the GFP and three independents. 15 MLAs voted against the motion -- 14 from the Congress and one from the NCP.
