Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that Odisha plays a pivotal role in India’s growth and is blessed with cultural heritage admired across the country and the world. In his address during the Odisha Parba 2024 event in New Delhi on Sunday,
Mr Modi said Odisha has provided strong leadership to the country. He said, Droupadi Murmu, a daughter of Odisha from the tribal community is serving as President of India is a great source of pride for all of us. Mr Modi said, inspired by her leadership, numerous projects worth thousand crores have been initiated for the welfare of the tribal people of Odisha. He highlighted that these welfare projects are not only benefiting the people of state but also the entire tribal population across the country.
Prime Minister Modi said Odisha will progress, when the women of the state are empowered. Mr Modi said, recently he launched Subhadra Yojana in the state, which will benefit the women of the state. He said, his government is committed to promote ease of doing business in Odisha. Prime Minister said, within the first hundred days of the formation of the new government in Odisha, investment worth 45 thousand crore rupees has been approved.
Prime Minister Modi said earlier, the eastern parts of India, like Odisha, were considered backward but he considers them as the growth engine of development. Mr Modi highlighted
that his government has prioritized the progress of eastern India. He said, today, the budget of Odisha has been increased three times in comparison to the budget allocated by the Central Government ten years ago. Mr Modi added that this year, 30 per cent more budget has been allocated compared with last year for the development of Odisha.
On the occasion, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said, Prime Minister Modi is a big devotee of Lord Jagannath and he has special affection towards people of Odisha. He said, it is due to Prime Minister’s advice, Pravasi Bharatiya Divas will be held in Odisha next year.
Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said, the rise of eastern part of the country is essential for the rise of the country. He informed that over ten thousand crore rupees has been given to Odisha for development of Railway in the State.
The three day Odisha Parba 2024, which began on Friday concluded today. Odisha Parba is a flagship event conducted by Odia Samaj, a trust in New Delhi, has been engaged in providing valuable support towards preservation and promotion of Odia heritage. Continuing with the tradition, this year Odisha Parba has been organised from 22nd to 24th November. It showcases the rich heritage of Odisha displaying colourful cultural forms and will exhibit the vibrant social, cultural and political ethos of the state.
