Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said the government has worked to strengthen institutional probity in the country. He said, the country is having a less cash economy today as a result of relentless efforts by the NDA government. Mr Modi said this while inaugurating the Golden Jubilee Celebrations of the Institute of Company Secretaries in New Delhi on Wednesday.
The Prime Minister said that the date of Demonetization will be remembered as the beginning of a corruption free movement in the country. The cash to GDP ratio has come down to 9 per cent after demonetization from above 12 per cent earlier. Mr Modi said that the people will have to think
hard before indulging in generation of black money. Hitting out at critics on the current state of the economy, the Prime Minister alleged that they are trying to spread pessimism.
Mr Modi also said that the Centre has taken major policy decisions and carried out financial reforms in the field of affordable housing which are unprecedented for the sector. He said, the NDA government has cleared projects worth 1.53 lakh crore rupees in its first three years. The Prime Minister said, more capital investment is required for developmental work. He said, the government has stressed upon bringing more foreign investment in the country.
