The government reiterated that it is always ready for talks with the farmers to address their concerns. Talking to media in New Delhi on Thursday, Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Singh Thakur said that Union Ministers held four rounds of talks with the farmers and positive discussions were held. He added that the government has increased the Fair and



Remunerative Price’ (FRP) of sugarcane from 315 to 340 rupees per quintal which is 8 per cent higher than the last year sugar season. 

Mr Thakur said, the government is taking every step to double the income of farmers and in this direction it has also implemented the report of MS Swaminathan.
