Nagaland Governor PB Acharya last night asked Chief Minister Shurhozuelie Lieziesu once again to prove his majority on the floor of the Assembly positively on or before July 15.

Earlier, state cabinet had turned down the governor's directive to summon an emergent assembly session for the floor test. In a letter addressed to the Chief Minister late last night, the governor said that Lieziesu did not deny the claims of TR Zeliang that he

enjoys the support of 44 MLAs in a house of 59.

Acharya said it is not an internal matter of the ruling Naga People's Front as claimed by the chief minister, but whether he enjoys the support of the majority of the House or not. The rebellion within the ruling party erupted as some members accused Liezietsu of indulging in nepotism by appointing his son Khriehu Liezietsu as his adviser with Cabinet status and pay.
