New Delhi: Government has said that differently-abled people and senior citizens will be administered COVID vaccine shots at home if they are unable to go to vaccine centres. Briefing media yesterday, VK Paul, Member (Health), Niti Aayog said that government has made a provision under which people with restricted mobility will be administered vaccine shots at home under the supervision of trained vaccinators. He said those who have not been able to take the shot because of such reasons will benefit from this.

Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan has written



letters to States and UTs to make special arrangements. States and UTs have been asked to ensure that differently-abled persons get proper access to COVID services- including testing and vaccination, and provide assistance for their vaccination through near to home Vaccination Centres.

India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has crossed 84 crore mark. Til now, more than 84 crore eight lakh 21 thousand doses have been administered. Health Ministry said, more than 65 lakh vaccine doses were administered yesterday.
