New Delhi: Secretary of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology Alkesh Kumar Sharma has said that the Government is continuously making efforts to make India a global technology hub. He stressed the need for developing indigenous technologies and creating a talent pool to become a global technology giant.  

Mr. Sharma on Thursday witnessed the transfer of technology of power quality solutions for grid and electronics solutions for Indian Railways developed under the National Mission on Power Electronics Technology. These indigenous



technologies were transferred by the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing to industry partners as a step aimed at fulfilling the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat. Transferred technologies include Vehicle Control Unit, STATCOM, test jig, and loco simulator among others. 

The vehicle Control Unit is a supervisory controller that manages and coordinates the functions of locomotives. According to the Indian Railways, this technology will help in achieving the objectives of bringing uniform technologies to the rolling stock.
