The Government has invited four hundred elected representatives of Panchayati Raj Institutions and over 160 field functionaries from States and Union Territories, as special guests for the Independence Day celebrations at the Red Fort in Delhi tomorrow.
These invitees include women representatives of Panchayati Raj and field functionaries of the Ministry of Women and Child Development, who are implementing different schemes in the country. These special guests are invited in recognition of their efforts towards empowering the country their efforts.
The Ministry of Women and Child Development said, the invited functionaries are from several schemes of the ministry including Anganwadi workers, Sakhi
One-Stop Centres, Sankalp: Hubs for Empowerment of Women and others. The Ministry of Panchayati Raj said the invitation to all grassroots leaders aims to provide a lifetime experience to be part of a historic national celebration, fostering a sense of pride and patriotism.
The Ministry is also organising a National Workshop on Women’s Leadership in Panchayats for its invitees in New Delhi today. The National Workshop will be addressed by several prominent personalities, leaders and social reformers. Union Minister of Panchayati Raj, Rajiv Ranjan Singh and Minister of State for Panchayati Raj Prof. S.P. Singh Baghel will felicitate the invitees at the conference.
