A total of two crore 86 lakh households in the country were provided electricity connections under Pradhan Mantri Sahaj Bijli Har Ghar Yojana (SAUBHAGYA). 

In a written reply in the Lok Sabha yesterday, Minister of State for Power Shripad Naik said that the government had launched this scheme in 2017 to achieve universal household electrification in the country. He said, that under SAUBHAGYA, all willing



un-electrified households in rural areas and all willing poor households in urban areas of the country were provided electricity connections. 

He said the Central Government is further supporting states under the ongoing Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme for electrification of those un-electrified households that were left out under SAUBHAGYA.
