Govt says around 39 crore loans extended under Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana till Jan 27

New Delhi: The government yesterday said that around 39 crore loans have been extended under Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana till 27th of last month. The scheme was introduced in 2015. In a written reply in the Lok Sabha yesterday, Minister of State for Finance, Dr Bhagawat Karad said out of this, over 26
crore loans have been extended to women entrepreneurs and about 20 crore loans to SC, ST and OBC category of borrowers.

He said the scheme has helped in generating one crore 12 lakh net additional employment in the country from 2015 to 2018.
