New Delhi: The Government will brief the floor leaders of all political parties on the situation in Afghanistan on Thursday. In a tweet, External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar said, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has instructed that Ministry of External Affairs will brief the floor leaders. 

Parliametary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi said, Floor Leaders of Political Parties would be briefed by External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar on the present situation in Afghanistan on 26th August at 11 am in Parliament House Annexe.

He said, invites are being sent through email and all



concerned have been requested to attend. India has so far evacuated nearly 600 people from Kabul in Afghanistan after Taliban took over. India is carrying out the evacuation missions in coordination with the US and several other friendly countries. India is airlifting its nationals through Dushanbe in Tajikistan and Qatar. 

The External Affairs Ministry has urged all Indian nationals in Afghanistan requiring assistance to contact its Special Afghanistan Cell immediately. It has set up the Special Afghanistan Cell to coordinate repatriation and other requests from Afghanistan.
