The government has undertaken a special project to connect all the border posts along the India-China border with roads. This was stated by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh while reviewing the operational preparedness of a forward Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) Border Out Post at Nelong in Uttarakhand yesterday. Mr Singh said, while a number of border posts had already been connected with roads, many more would be linked soon.
The Home Minister ringed in the New year
with the troops of the ITBP at the border post located at a height of over 11,600 feet where the mercury dropped to minus 20 degrees Celsius.
The Home Minister also addressed a Sainik Sabha and lauded the ITBP personnel for their dedicated service in tough high altitude sub-zero conditions. He said, his Ministry is aware of the services rendered by the ITBP personnel in difficult circumstances and is trying to extend all possible support to them.
