Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah yesterday announced the plans of the government to form a cooperative organisation for drivers in the country. The minister was speaking at the closing ceremony of the Golden Centenary celebrations of the Ahmedabad District Cooperative (ADC) Bank in Jetalpur, Ahmedabad.

The minister said the government is aiming to integrate two lakh service cooperative societies and primary milk producer societies into the cooperative



movement over the next five years to enhance the agricultural and dairy sectors.

The minister, who is on a visit to Gujarat, also attended the oath-taking ceremony of the lawyers in Adalaj. The programme was organized by the Bar Council of Gujarat.

Earlier in the day, Minister Shah released 24 reprinted books for the year 2024-25 at the Sastu Sahitya Mudranalay Trust in Ahmedabad.
