Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs, Hardeep Singh Puri today said that the government will achieve the target of housing for all by early 2020 instead of its earlier set target of 2022.
Mr Puri said, 83 lakh houses were already sanctioned when Lok Sabha elections were announced.
Speaking at a function in New Delhi, Mr Puri said, smart cities project is one of the fastest implemented projects in the world. He said 50 integrated command and control centres in Smart Cities will be operational by the end of December this year.
Mr Puri said the situation of the real estate sector will also improve and it will
have order and stability.
Mr Puri, who also holds the charge of Civil Aviation Ministry, said there is some turbulence in this sector but the Government will provide an enabling environment where the problems can be resolved.
Talking about world trade scenario, the Minister said, the multilateral trading system anchored in WTO is under strain and India has a lot to gain through trade based on such a rule-based trading system.
He claimed that India will become the five trillion dollar economy by 2024. Mr Puri assured the industry that the government is committed to providing a better environment for its growth.
