Grandson among 3 arrested for theft of Bismillah Khan shehnais

In ​Uttar Pradesh, police has made a breakthrough in Bharat Ratna Ustad Bismillah Khan's shehnai theft case​. The Varanasi unit of Special Task Force arrested the grandson ​of Bismillah Khan ​and two jewellers in this connection.

During interrogation,



Ustad's grandson Najre Hasan said, he had stolen the shenais to repay the money he had borrowed from some people.Of the four shehnais, three silver made shenais were melted by the jewelers. The shehnais were sold off at a petty amount of 17,000 rupees.​
