Gratuity for AP staff hiked

The Andhra Pradesh government cleared a proposal to enhance gratuity of state government teachers to Rs 12 lakh as per the recommendations of the 10th Pay Revision Commission that was submitted in the united Andhra Pradesh. The gratuity amount was raised from Rs 8 lakh to Rs 10 lakh in the previous PRC.  

The 10th PRC recommended Rs 12 lakh. After the bifurcation of



the state, the Telangana government accepted the PRC recommendations and issued orders but the AP government issued a GO keeping the upper limit at Rs 10 lakh. However, owing to strong dissent expressed by the Joint Action Committee of the employees and teachers, the AP Cabinet has now finally decided to implement the PRC recommendations and increase the gratuity limit.
