Gujarat Assembly will be run by the students today. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel will inaugurate the Youth Model Assembly programme which is being organised inside the State Assembly today as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
A total of 182 school and college students selected from across the State will take part in the legislative proceedings today and play various roles such as Speaker, chief minister, MLAs and so on. Speaker of the state assembly Dr. Nimaben
Acharya said, the programme aims at familiarizing the younger generation with the democracy and encouraging leadership qualities in them.
Through the programme, the younger generation will also get to know how the government works and how the laws are made. The programme is being organised by GV Mavalkar Parliamentary Studies and Training Bureau of the state Assembly in association with ‘The School Post’.
