Gujarat celebrates its foundation day today

Today is the 60th Foundation Day of Gujarat. Every year, the day is celebrated in different districts by launching various welfare schemes.

However, there is no official celebration

this year due to the model code of conduct.

The state of Gujarat came into existence on 1st May 1960 after bifurcation of erstwhile Mumbai state.
