In Gujarat, flood situations still prevailed in many parts of the state on the second consecutive day. Vadodara, Devbhoomi Dwaraka, and Jamnagar are among the districts that are the worst affected. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel held a high-level meeting at the State Emergency Operation Centre in Gandhinagar and reviewed the flood situation in the state.
The CM instructed the district collectors to remain alert in view of the flash flood warning issued by IMD in several districts and also asked to mobilise various relief and rescue agencies to expedite the relief
work in flood-affected areas.
Meanwhile, the IMD predicted heavy to extremely heavy rainfall in several parts of Saurashtra, Kutch and South Gujarat for the next 24 hours. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea till the 30th of August. Strong winds reaching 45-55 kilometres per hour are likely over the districts of South Gujarat Region and Saurashtra & Kutch during the next 24 hours.
Meanwhile, relief and rescue operations are still underway in flood-hit districts.
