In Gujarat, the State government on Thursday announced a special relief package for farmers hit by unseasonal rainfall in the Month of March. The decision was taken in the State Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Thursday.
 
Spokesperson of the State government Rushikesh Patel said the relief package was announced on the basis of a loss-assessment survey carried out in 13 affected districts including Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Junagadh, Surat and Kutch. 

Under this



special package, for crops like wheat, chana, mustard, farmers will get Rs 13,500 from SDRF and an additional assistance of 9,500  rupees per hectare from the state government.  In all, each farmer will get an assistance of 23,000 rupees per hectare but with a cap of a maximum of two hectares. The state government will pay 30,600 rupees per hectare for the damage to horticulture produces like mango, guava and lemon. The government will pay a minimum assistance of 4,000 rupees to eligible farmers.
