Gandhinagar: Gujarat Government has announced the release of water for irrigation to save the standing crop due to long dry spell. This was announced by Chief Minister Vijay Rupani yesterday in Gandhinagar.
According to official sources, the government has asked to reserve drinking water required for the period till 30th September this year. The irrigation needs of the farmers
will be fulfilled from the rest of the waters from Dams and reservoirs.
This decision will help to irrigate five lakh hectares of land due to delayed and scanty rainfall. Earlier, the State Government had announced to increase the power supply for irrigation purposes from 8 hours to 10 hours last month.
