Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel expressed confidence that Gujarat will become a one trillion-dollar economy by 2047 when the country completes 100 years of Independence.
Addressing the inauguration of the National Executive Committee Meeting of FICCI in Gandhinagar yesterday, the Chief Minister said that FICCI has played an important role in portraying Gujarat as the Growth Engine of India. He emphasized that FICCI has truly fulfilled the Prime Minister’s vision of Vibrant Gujarat as the Summit of Bonding not Branding.
The Chief Minister said that Gujarat contributes eight percent to the national
GDP with only 6% of the country’s geographical area. Gujarat also accounts for 18 percent of the total industrial production and 30 percent of the country’s total exports. The total industrial output of the state two decades ago was 1.27 lakh crore rupees, which has increased to 16.19 lakh crore rupees, the Chief Minister added.
Chief Minister on the occasion urged organizations like FICCI to play a leading role in creating the necessary infrastructure for environmental conservation and assured that the State Government will support them in such endeavours.
