In Gujarat, pre-monsoon showers witnessed in most parts of the state yesterday. The Met department said due to the upper air circulation formed over the region, heavy to heavy rainfall is very likely today at isolated places in Saurashtra and Central Gujarat while heavy rains are likely to continue in many parts of Saurastra, north and Central Gujarat over the next three days.

With over 45 tehsils received more than 25 MM rains during the last 24 hours. The summer temperature dipped in most parts of the state.

Districts in Saurashtra mainly Bhavnagar, Amreli, Junagadh and Rajkot reported heavy rains yesterday. Heavy downpour was also witnessed



in many districts of Central Gujarat. Ahmedabad city witnessed around 79 MM rains yesterday. Visibility was reduced to almost nill in the city yesterday. Waterlogging was seen at low lying areas in the cities like Ahmedabad, Rajkot. The water level rose in many rivers of the Saurastra region. 

Many check dams are reported to be overflowing in many districts of Saurashtra like Botad, Bhavnagar, Rajkot and Amreli. Trees were uprooted in many parts of the state. The pre monsoon rains have caused damage to the summer crops like groundnuts in Saurashtra but majority of farmers are expecting good monsoon this year.
